Susan's Game Day Salsa 🏈⭐

Football season falls roughly when the tomatoes are in full production do we have enough to make salsa. Together with tortilla chips, it's one of my husband's favorite movies while watching BYU play!!

Ingredients:

Tomatoes, diced small

Green onions, sliced

Poblano peppers* diced small

Fresh Cilantro chopped

Garlic powder

Cumin

Chili powder

Salt

Black pepper

(Sometimes a splash of lime juice)

I'm a dump cook, so there aren't specific instructions or amounts. But I'll include some of my "strategies" or instructions.

*Home grown tomatoes taste BEST 🤷 but alternatively never refrigerated your tomatoes, instead put them in a window where the will open more naturally.

*I use as many tomatoes as I can, and when I'm running low on red garden tomatoes, I'll throw in some green ones. If you add too much salt, add more tomatoes.

*Pick the pepper you want, we use poblano because the flavor is there, but they have a milder heat

*Once I used chives when I didn't have green onions growing

*For the spices, cumin is the main flavor with chili next, and about as much salt as chili, then pepper and usually less black pepper than that.

Really, salt to taste.

Serve with your favorite tortilla chips! Mmmm... What s yummy tradition.
